WarbleTM
Warble is a real-time methodology of determining if a card is counterfeit. Warble works on the well-known scientific finding that magnetic slurry (the magnetic material on the back of a payment card that holds the card data) carries with it absolutely unique physical characteristics that are unique from card to card, and from authentic card to counterfeit card.
Warble technology is embedded in every Cipher Security Module and records each card's fingerprint as the card is swiped. The comparison of each card's signature as the card is used provides for a real-time determination of whether or not a given card is counterfeit.
The Warble technology is of particular use to card issuers who currently rely on self-reporting or on analytic methods to determine if a card has been counterfeited. Unfortunately, analytic methods take time and time results in fraudulent card use. Warble makes the determination in real time, before authorization, and can simply decline counterfeit cards prior to any charges.
