Multi-Modal Devices
Recently, Semtek has developed a series of multi-modal data capture devices for global clients that combine mag-stripe, smart-card, bio metrics, and contactless into a single secure accessory for their existing hand held devices. Semtek has also developed an extremely small form factor PED device as an accessory for these same devices.
Increasingly, clients want hand held devices to accept all forms of payment card and secure ID, but do not want to have to re-design entire hand held or wireless devices to support this complex functionality. Semtek builds these multi-modal devices as "plug and play" accessories to meet this need.
